What is wrong with a 2003 Ford Explorer that has a hum sound when the engine is turned on and when you accelerate when no gas is applied the hum is a low sound then gets high when gas is applied?

Suggestion: check the belt tentioner pully, if that's o.k. then try the fan clutch.
i have a 2004 escape that did same thing it was due to having low Power Steering fluid
