I would check and probley replace the speed sensor that's in the transmission tail shaft if it is a 2-wheel drive. 4-wheel drives have them in the transfur case.

I may be wrong but I believe that it runs through the PCM and a sensor on the top of the rear differential.
Your speed sensor is going out. it is located near where the engine is connected to the transmission but on the back side of the transmission near the bottom.
