Women in the military can currently serve in almost every field, except for anything having to do with combat. Women can be in helicopters and such, but they cannot serve as a ground combat soldier, or "grunt", as it is called in the marine corps.

∙ 15y agoThey should... However, the question that still causes heated debates is wether or not the should be in combat, which the shouldn't. Its factual that men are stronger than women so they are more able to serve long missions and survive physical combat. I realize that some women are physically equivalent to men, but that is a rarity and it would be too costly to provide accomodations to the 2% of women that exhibit the same signs of strenght. My name is SPC Lynne and I am a woman proudly serving as a 68S in the Reserves (prevenitive medical specialist) and I know that women are just as able to fill certain roles and more able to fill others (such is being a health care personel because people generally respond better to female nurses, doctors, and dieticians), but infantry and special forces are not one of them.

The US military all ready has in place plans for a draft of women if/ when a draft is reintroduced. Women ARE eligible now in the eyes of the government, so they will be drafted.

Women in the Military is a fine example of why the sexism in the world is pointless. I've personally met many female soldiers. Females in the Army/Marines/Navy/Air Force is a great thing, for there are actually many jobs women can do better than males. On a side note: When the war in Afghanistan started women pilots bombed many strategic targets. Arabic people treat women like property, and our women bombed them. Irony? I think so.

Yes, there are military schools at United States military bases in Alaska. They are for the children of the men and women who serve in the Unites States military at Alaska based military bases.
