The only way you can stop the water in a pond turning green long term is to get yourself a UV filter system. (Ultra Violet) The water is pumped out of the pond into a filter box containing sponges and sometimes biological filtration substances and is also treated by a UV light which is either in the same filter box or an additional box which the water then passes through. The UV light kills off all the algae so clearing the water. These systems are very good, but can be quite expensive to set up and you will need to change the UV bulbs once a year as they lose there effectiveness. If you do purchase one of these systems, be aware NEVER look at the bulb when it is on as it can damage you eyesight and even blind you!
well you can buy a filter to hep reduce the amount of bacteria in your tank or you can get one of those little sucking fish that eat the green stuff in your tank. They come in real handy. I'm telling you because i have one and they work really good.
The water has turned green because of an algal bloom. This is quite common in newly set up aquariums and should subside in a few days. It sometimes helps to shut off the aquarium's lights when algal blooms occur.
Get a plecostomous fish for your tank they live off algae or you can buy all different kinds of algae control tablets/liquid from any good aquarium.
you should probably clean the tank more often and/or get a bigger tank
Actually, it is algae or coloring added to make it green.
stop the groth of alge
clean the water or get Rid of the fish.
sucker fish only if it is in a water tank with water in it
Your water is orange?! I should get the water tested right away and you should only be taking 25% of the water out a week or you will completely mess up your tank.
wipe it....(:
Wash it thoroughly in water & detergent, to get rid of any possible residues - then rinse it well before introducing it into the tank.
You can either let the tank sit 'fallow' (empty of fish) for about eight weeks or you can remove and boil the gravel, replace all the water and replace or boil all of the filter media and decorations.
The water is not properly filtered. A high grade charcoal pack such as Bio Chem zorb will clear the water and help remove the smell.
Yes you can, but you must make sure you rinse the tank extremely well to get rid of the soap residue so it will not harm the fish. you can also use a mixture of water and vinegar to clean the tank which will clean it but not be harmful for the fish after rinsing.
yes but the downfall that i founf is that the betta will make the other fish get ick and get a green film on them which is hard to get rid of. a betta is fine all by its self in a coffee cup with water (or something small)
in cars you can put metho to get rid of water
get a 5+ gallon heated and filtered tank
The fish are drinking it. Get rid of the fish
what are you doing with lettuce and snails? and no they will be fine
