Zoology is the branch of biology which deals with study of animals. The word 'zoology' is derived from the Greek: ζῴον, zoion, "animal"; and λόγος, logos, "knowledge."or "study." Aristotle (384-322 B.C.E.) is considered by many to be the father of zoology. Conrad Gessner [1516-1565] is also regarded as the father of zoology.
