Santo Domingo is the capital of the country of the Dominican Republic. i believe the question is probably asking about "Port-au-Prince" instead of "Pora-au-Prince," the former being the capital of Haiti. The DR and Haiti share the island of Hispanola. I read recently that both countries have agreed to recognize the island name by the much older "Santo Domingo"but it is not yet official, as of late 2010.
