Chineese bitter melons are generally of large in size, light green color, smoother outer skin and less bittery taste with more water. Indian bitter melons are smaller, dark green color, skin has sharp nodules and more bitter in taste.
Regions of the world that grow bitter melons are Asia, Africa and the Caribbean. Other names for bitter melon include goya, bitter squash, karavella and bitter gourd.
