Food... In the Netherlands they eat food.

Typical Dutch (not "Netherlands" or Netherlands's) food is "stamppot" (english: MASH pot). A combination of potatoes and and a vegetable like zuurkool, andijvie, boerenkool (sauerkraut, endive, kale). It's served with a smoked sausage: Rookworst.

Other typical Dutch dishes are kroketten en bitterballen (croquettes and "bitterballen"). Kaas (cheese) is very Dutch, too. Pea soup (erwtensoep) and Pannenkoeken (pancakes), wentelteefjes is ook lekker.

Ik hoop dat je antwoord op je vraag hebt en nu weet wat men eet in Nederland.

i'm Dutch, by the way.

The main ingredient in a dutch dish in the Netherlands are potatoes, usually boiled and usually with a sauce over it. Steamed vegetables are very popular. And some meat to go with it ofcourse. Beef is the most commenly eaten type of meat.

There have been many influences from other countries too though. Finding Indonesian food in the dutch kitchen is not rare. (Especially considering that Indonesia was a colony of the Netherlands)

The most famous typical Dutch dish is 'stamppot' which is made from smashed potatoes and a vegetable of choice. (it tasts better than it sounds like honestly)
