There are so many choices as far as a career goes for someone graduating with alegal studies degree. You can work as a mediator, you can work in just about any area of law as a legal assistant.. You can even freelance your legal skills to other attorneys that are in need of a legal assistant but not full time. The opportunities are endless.

Although it may not required but with associate degree in paralegal you can get more competitive job in the market. As a paralegal you can work in law offices, legal agencies or in government offices. The main works of a paralegal is to assist the layers with those task that they don't have time to do themselves. Mainly they prepare the legal documents, submit the paper work to the court, answer the phones and greet to the clients.

There is no such thing as a degree in pre-law! Some colleges offer (what they call) pre-law options, however its just a mere advisement program to make sure a student who has plans on going to law school, has the necessary background in appropriate course content. Lawyers come from a variety of backgrounds and degree programs.
