From what I have been able to research most manufacturers recommend using 10W-40. You should change oil every 500 to 800 miles. And it is better to use a synthetic oil versus a mineral oil, eg; Mobil 1 synthetic, as synthetic oil does not create the sludge that is prominent with standard petroleum based mineral oil. Hope this information is helpful.
This is a small two-stroke scooter with oil injection. It uses a two-stroke oil and you can buy this from your nearest Honda motorcycle dealership, or use any other acknowledged two-stroke oil.
You need to define what your use of the oil will be. If you mean adding oil to the fuel, you do not need to do this on an 4 stroke motor. Or maybe you mean engine oil, or maybe transmission oil?
if your scooter has a engine oil dip stick then it is a four stroke. if it has a oil tank that you have to put oil in then it is 2 stroke.
Drain it out and replace with proper oil
The gas-oil mixture ratio on a 2005 powermax 50cc scooter is usually about 5% in the ratio of 20:1. For the tuned scooters they use 3% on the ratio of 32:1.Ê
If you buy Yamalube, it will tell you on the label what the ratio is.
If no dip stick, just fill it up to the plug u add oil. But dont over do it.
If it is a 2 cycle then use only 2 cycle oil mixed with the gasoline. If it is a 4 cycle use SAE 10w30 synthetic unless the manufacture recommends a different weight.
4cycle
2 stroke oil. Try to get some synthetic oil, it's a little more expensive, but gives your scooter more progress and a lot longer life. Dont get the cheap gas station ones, they are a waste, and will tear up your engine. 2 stroke oil. A safe bet is every 750 miles. It is a penny wise expense.
probably not but 10W40 is recommended
