99.9% of people get stage fright. I've heard people such as Carol Brunett and others say they thought they would 'chuck their cookies' before going out on stage. Many actors never get over it, but once they get into the work of acting they soon forget about it. Also Singers are terrified they will lose their voice, forget the words to a song and some actors are terrified of forgetting their lines. Eventually in time, most people that are on stage a lot will get over the fear of stage fright.
They fear that they will stuff up and get laughed at. This will result in sweating and embaressment and then they always get scared and they will have trouble public speaking in the future.

If you are asking why does the world have animation, then I have to tell you because it is awesome. It is a beautiful art form that takes lots of skill and the ability to observe. It is also a fantastic way for people who have stage fright, to still live out their desire to act. If you are asking why do people have animation (as in movement) it's because we'd get bed sores and die if we never moved!

I believe stage fright is caused by both. I had a history of family members with major stage fright and subsequently developed it myself. Stage fright can also hit people who aren't used to performing in front of people, and with much practice and exposure to the discomfort, stage fright is likely to be reduced or disappear all together. That's what happened to me. With enough practice, I learned to be totally confident while giving speeches. Just remember, every motivational speaker has had some type of formal training in order to make them completely confident in front of masses of people.
