For a Dodge Ram 1500, you need to use ATF+4 for power steering fluid. ATF+4 is compatible in vehicles that used ATF+3 for power steering fluid.
It is not recommended by Dodge, but it might work in an emergency.

Remove Drivebelt Using large syringe or suction gun suck as much fluid out of the power steering fluid reservoir. Position drain pan under power steering pump then disconnect the hoses from the pump. Plug the hoses to prevent excessivce fluid loss and the entry of contaminants. Remove the pump mounting bllts. The bolts can be accessed through the hoes in tghe power steering pump piulley. Lift pump from the enigne complartment being carelu not to let any power steering fluid drip on the vehicles paint. Installation is the reverse of removal. Be siure to tighten all fasteners secfurelyu. Fill powerstering reservouir with recommended fluid and bleed system. Recgecj oiwer steerubg fluid level.
