Afterward:
1. Get lots of fresh air to flush your lungs and body from breathing the ammonia. Breathe very deeply outside. Inhale on a count of 5, hold for 2, exhale for 5. Do this several times. Stop if you feel lightheaded.
2. Mind your head injury. Find out if you have concussion. If after hitting your head, you feel dazed, confused, or lose consciousness for a brief moment, it is likely you have one. A CT scan or MRI can detect the injury, but not much can be done about it, except get enough rest and nutrition and eventually, it heals itself.
To prevent:
Make sure the space is well ventilated and the ammonia may need to be diluted with water. Also, avoid mixing the ammonia with any other chemical, since it can create a toxic gas.
