The best swimwear for water polo is "speedo" style trunks for men and one-piece suits for women. You can buy specialist gear from certain shops, these are streamlined and difficult for opposing players to grip and pull you back due to the material used. At lower levels it isn't so important however bikinis and boardshorts are still a definate no-no, jammers are a smart alternative for male players.
