What laws that Barack Obama pass during his term?

You questioned whether or not he has done anything in the senate. Found a nice site that shows all that he has done and even lists the numbers of the the bills he sponsored and passed. You can look them up at the following website: thomas.gov with the number in parenthesis next to the bill, but the list of his accomplishments are below at the following link. Obama has sponsored or co-sponsored 570 bills in the 109th and 110thCongress and has sponsored or co-sponsored 15 bills that have become LAW since he joined Senate in 2005. He also introduced amendments to 50 bills, of which 16 were adopted by the Senate.

Senators cannot pass laws by themselves. As a state senator, Barack Obama voted on a number of bills that came before the Illinois state legislature, but he did not have the power to pass any on his own.

Presidents do not pass laws. The job of passing laws is up to congress. On the other hand, presidents have an agenda when they are elected, and they try to persuade congress to move that agenda forward. President Obama has had mixed success with getting congress to do what he hoped: he was able to get congress to pass Health Care Reform, for example, but other elements of his agenda have stalled amidst congressional bickering.
