The Inner Core of the Earth lies at the centre of the Earth. It is solid and is composed of iron and nickel alloys. It also contains the heavy radioactive minerals. These latter; and gravitational pressure; create the heat at the Earth's centre. About 6000 degrees - about the same temperature as the surface of the Sun.
