3.0 is equivalent to a B. In GPA calculation, typically*, an A is 4 points, B is 3 points, C is 2 points and D is 1 point. (F's are not worth any points) *typically, because when calculating GPAs in high school, AP courses add one more point to each grade.

It's a B.

Usually it's close to the following (varies between schools):

4.0 is usually an A/A+

3.7 is an A-

3.4 is a B+

3.0 is a B

2.9 is a B-
