Kahlua is simply a coffee liquor. At a liquor store, or grocery store, there will be various other coffee liquors near the Kahlua, where you can simply select a cheaper one.
Another option is to create your own coffee liquor. There are a number of recipes available online. The basic ingredients are vodka, sugar, coffee or espresso, and a vanilla bean.

∙ 12y agoKahlua and Tia Maria are pretty much the only coffee flavored liqueurs available, however you should be able to use a non-coffee flavored substitute and still get a good result. For example, Amaretto or Frangelico (hazelnut liqueur) should still work well - their flavors generally work with all the same things that coffee liqueur would complement. You can also use coffee essence together with brandy for the coffee alcohol flavour.
