Windows Movie Maker is rather persnickety with importing (my experience anyhow). Open Windows Photo Gallery and click on File, Import from Scanner or Camera.

Basically you should know the features of your camera for you to know how to take the shot. Better to read the manual first. But when it comes to photo shoot techniques and other photo enhancing features, I guess it is best to get the service of an expert. For instance, for photo enlargements, you can't simply do it at home unless of course you have the machine for photo enlarging or reducing.
