AnswerThe early Jews used the term 'prophet' to refer to anyone believed to communicate directly with God. This ability did not require them to be able to foretell the future.

Later, the term 'prophet' began to mean a person who could foretell the future, particularly in Christianity. This helps justify reinterpreting the works of the ancient prophets, to find new meanings. After all, once a prophet is recognised as being able to prophesy, then it becomes our job to find those hidden prophecies.

Throughout the ages, many have been misguided by their own false egos; however, the ancient Hebrews had a hard and fast rule: one error meant death, as it could not been divinely-derived if if was wrong.

A prophet, in the religious sense, is thought by believers to be an inspired speaker who delivers messages believed to come from God. The prophet seems to know what God wants and how he wants people to behave. A main factor in being considered a prophet was to have followers who are convinced of the prophet's veracity.

sticking to your faith, standing up for what you believe in, spreading the faith in not a forceful manner. Speaking truth, being respectful, trying your hardest, putting effort into things. Always profess not about yourself but for others and for God Himself.
