What make the penis arouse?

During arousal the following changes occur:

  • Heart speeds up (heart rate increases).
  • Breathing becomes deeper and louder.
  • Nipples become erect.
  • Penis becomes erect.
  • May also be emotional excitement as well as sexual arousal.

The penis becomes erect when it becomes full of blood. During sexual arousal your heart speeds up and a lot of this blood enters the penis. The increase in heart rate and the amount of blood in the penis causes the penis to prepare for sexual intercourse.
