Grand Auditorium body style has the width and depth of a dreadnought.

Its narrower waist gives it the appearance of a smaller instrument, adds treble "zing" across the guitar's tonal spectrum.

The waist sharpens the definition of individual notes, and also enables it to rest comfortably in the lap.

With less mass from the width of the braces, the guitar top moves faster, resulting in a snappy, bell-like tone.

A good visual comparison would be the Martin D-16 acoustic and D-15 Dreadnaught. All else being equal (materials and craftsmanship) the Dreadnaught style has a larger body and generally produces a louder more powerful sound than the "standard" acoustic.

Actually, not all acoustic Guitars are called dreadnoughts. There are straight acoustic,

acoustic, electric acoustic, dreadnoughts, e.t.c. But the dreadnought got its name when most guitars weren't as big or bold. The HMS Dreadnought was a big and bold battleship, which inspired the name of the guitar, because it was big and bold. It is bigger and much more different than other guitars and had a unique shape, like a box, which made it stand out. But sometimes it is actually a guitar size. It is a D-size guitar, and their models are "D-", and then a number, such as D-18.

An electro acoustic guitar is different from a normal acoustic guitar because it has a magnetic pickup built in. This lets the acoustic guitar make a sound like an Electric Guitar when you use it.
