If it's not already moving, then it takes force to make it start.

If it is already moving, and there's nothing making it stop,

then it doesn't take anything to keep it moving.

Cars basically get their energy to move from igniting gasoline in their engine so that it explodes, and using this pressure to power a hydraulic system. It does this by using a spark plug to make the gas combust. Then the explosion pushes a piston, which pushes fluids to another object with a larger surface area. That will then cause the basic functions of an automobile.

Because the tires are pushing backwards. The equal and opposite reaction is for the axle of the tire to move forward. The axle is, of course, connected to the car. This is Newton's third law of motion.

The engine pushes the axis which turns the wheels forward, causing the car to move. So when the engine pushes the axis the car moves.

The chemical energy in the fuel (petrol, diesel, hydrogen) or electricity are used to drive a motor. This converts the energy into rotational motion of the drive axle which propels the car.

Why do cars need fuel?

Fuel is material which is processed (usually 'burnt') to produce energy - heat or power. To move a car takes energy - and that has to be supplied by the fuel.

Why are engines such as the st205 important to have in cars?

Combustion engines allow a car to transfer potential energy stored in gasoline into mechanical energy that powers the pistons to turn a cars' wheels. Simply put, engines, such as the high performance st205 used by Toyota, allow cars to move.

Energy is an important cycle that is used in the universe. Energy is how everything and everyone moves and works. Without energy, objects would not move, cars would not work, and everything would be useless.

Why do cars have circle wheels?

Cars have circular wheels to move the easiest. Because of the circle's shape, the wheels can rotate easily. If they were not circles, it would take a great amount of work and energy to get the wheel to rotate.

How do cars use thermal energy?

Internal combustion engines use the oxidation of vaporized fuel to release thermal energy. This energy causes the gases present to expand rapidly, and this expansion is converted to mechanical energy by the pistons as they move up and down on the camshaft.
