Lack of hCG, the hormone that is detected in pregnancy tests. If you test too soon after ovulation the test will be negative, waiting a week or two will allow enough time for the hormone to be present.

∙ 14y agoWell, the way a pregnancy test works is it measures the amount of a certain hormone in your urine- the hormone is called HCG (human chorionic gonadotropin). If there is past a certain amount of it in your urine, it means you are pregnant. So any medication (if there are any) that messes up the amount of HCG in your body could affect a pregnancy test.

∙ 13y agoNone to my knowledge, the hormone hCG is the hormone needed for a pregnancy to be viable. A false negative is an indication it is too early to test, otherwise there is no pregnancy.
