Southeast MI has the least amount of snow, so go about as far southeast as you can - let's say Lambert in Monroe County - and that's about as low as it gets. That's probably a few inches under 40" annually.

Hanna gets some of the most snow in the Black Hills, which means some of the highest totals in the Dakotas and south. Annual snowfall is probably about 80-95 inches in this region.
Sioux Falls, South Dakota gets an annual average of 44 inches of snowfall per the National Climatic Data Center. The Mt. Rushmore National Memorial gets an annual average of 52 inches of snowfall per the NCDC.

From my knowledge, Montreal gets more snowfall than Toronto or Winnipeg. I was born in Winnipeg, raised in Toronto and visited Montreal last year. The snow in Montreal was much heavier than in Toronto and Toronto gets more snow than Winnipeg.
Generally its very cold and snowy. In the UP, Marquette gets the most annual snowfall out of all of the US. It pretty much constantly snows up there. In the LP, the west side of the state gets the most snow, from the water off Lake Michigan. I live in central LP, and its generally between 15-30 F with about 5-7 inches of snow. But last winter was freakishly hot.
When it gets above freezing when it rains then it gets below freezing it causes freezing rain.
