I am pretty certain that the MOST famous movie featuring the Empire State Building at the end would have to be Merain Cooper and Earnest Shoedsack's King Kong. The 1933 classic starred Robert Armstrong, Fay Wray and Bruce Cabot. The famous scene came at the end, when Kong climbed the sky-scraper, then the tallest and perhaps the newest in the world, carrying the terrified Wray, with whom the giant ape was in love. The film ended with Kong being shot from the building's tower by bi-planes, and falling to his doom (Wray survived, luckily).
