Forney, Texas, was as established as "Brooklyn" from about 1870.

Before it came into being the area east of the present Dallas, Texas, was home to the Caddo people - these were a group of small tribes speaking very similar languages. They included the Eyeish, the Kadohadacho and the Hasinai.

The Caddo tribes seem to have occupied the area that later became eastern and north-eastern Texas from around 1400 AD.
