Are under glow lights illegal in Georgia?

Hey every body well i asked a GA state trooper and he said every color is illegal except green but only if the green under your car does not pulsate it must be a solid beam

-WRONG, i got pulled over because i had blue neon lights that incorporated strobe lights also. I had to pay 275$ and do 20 hours of community service. according to what I've heard blue and red lights are completely off limits but green is ok, and to be safe i would leave out the strobe

um, i got some green neons under my car and they DO NOT pulsate at all...they are just solid and i got pulled over and the officer told me that all colors are illegal in the state of Georgia. but idk, b/c i live here in valdosta, and I've driven past plenty of valdosta cops with them on and never got pulled over, and i drive into hahira and i get pulled over in there.

Ok used to be only legal in California now its illegal there too they say it distructs the other drivers i say don't look lol. Anyways its illegal everywhere now. The yellow color how ever can be used but is risky and you will have to argue with cop if used. yelllow color used by big 18 wheeler trucks so its not an emergancy vehicle color there for it can be used. As of other colors you can have any color on but it can only be on if you are parked, if you are on private road or on back road where speed limit is less then 25mph.

I got blue on my white celica driving around with it on everynight only got pulled over twice and i told him i hit the switch with my knee and got away hehe.

Yes, but not while driving on a public roadway (unless in a parade event, of course).

The lights are distracting to other drivers and may cause an accident, one which you may be charged with causing and therefore be liable for any/all damages.

It depends on what color the lights are. but i have had green, purple, orange, and white on my car before and never gotten pulled over, but i heard that the only ones that are illegal are the ones that imitate cops and emergency vehicles like cops blue/red and ambulance blue/red so the only colors that are illegal are blue and red neon would be my guess.

[Illegal] Blue lights - blue blinking/flashing/pulsing/anything are illegal in GA. Even lights that have the ABILITY to turn blue are illegal in Georgia and even if you are PARKED. It doesn't matter. If you have multi-colored neons installed, ensure that the blue lights are deactivated by your mechanic and save the documentation that it was done; you can face charges for a misdemeanor otherwise. Don't push your luck.

O.C.G.A. § 40-8-90 (2011). Restrictions on use of blue lights on vehicles

(a) (1) Except as provided in this paragraph and subsection (b) of this Code section, it shall be unlawful for any person, firm, or corporation to operate any motor vehicle equipped with or containing a device capable of producing any blue lights, whether flashing, blinking, revolving, or stationary.

[Illegal] Green FLASHING lights - According to Section 40-8-92, green flashing/rotating lights are prohibited. There are no stipulations on SOLID green lights however and as such should be considered legal, regardless of an officer's unknowingly incorrect interpretation of the law.

[Unspecified] Red/Amber lights - The law very briefly touches on the use of red or amber lights. While it doesn't necessarily reject them outright as with the blue lights, it still implies that a permit might be required to operate them. Considering red and amber lights are used as warning indicators for traffic, for your safety and the safety of others I would HIGHLY recommend not considering this as an alternative.

O.C.G.A. § 40-8-92 (2011).

(a) ...... Any and all fire department vehicles which are distinctly marked on each side shall not be required to have a permit for the use of a red light. Any and all ambulances, as defined in Code Section 31-11-2, licensed by this state shall not be required to have a permit for the use of a red light.

(b) The commissioner shall authorize the use of red or amber flashing or revolving lights only when the person or governmental agency shall demonstrate to the commissioner a proven need for equipping a vehicle with emergency lights. The fee for such lights shall be $2.00, provided that no federal, state, county, or municipal governmental agency or an ambulance provider, as defined in Code Section 31-11-2, shall be required to pay such fee.

At the time of this posting, all other colors are fair game in the state of Georgia.

Yes it is. Neon light isn't a banned item in any country of the united states, so until motorcycles are illegal, neon lights on them is legal.

Under glow lights went out with lowrider trucks which was around 1993 but to answer your question yes they are legal in Ga. I never had any problems with cops except when i dated a cops wife.
