There is a pet store in Gurnee Mills, but stay away from it at all costs. This store sells dogs from puppy mills. These dogs are extremely sick, inbred, and will have severe health problems for the rest of their lives due to horrible breeding. Stay away from any place that "sells" animals. Only buy a dog from a reputable breeder that will include a pedigree to ensure that the animal is healthy and properly bred. The best option for dogs and cats is always a shelter! www.petfinder.com
Rather than buying from pet stores that sometimes encourage puppy mills I think it would be better to go to your local humane society and rescue a pet that may be euthanized (SP) if not adopted. There are some pet stores that rather then sell puppies and cats they have area rescue people come in with animals that can be purchased. Pet Co is one in my area that offers that service. You can also look in your local paper for people selling. But I personally think it is better to try to save an animal.
i really recommend a dog pound or shelter. but if you really wanna get a puppy at the pet store go to square one in Mississauga. The pet store is called (pj's pet.)well if u wanna see what stores sell them u can go ask PETCO OR DOG SHELTERS OR POUNDS :D

Pet stores get their puppies from puppy mills. Buying them keeps the pet stores in business, which keeps the cruelty of puppy mills in business. It is a vicious circle. You would be better off adopting from a shelter or pet rescue society.
