There are no records (oral or later written) that the Cherokee domesticated any animals other than a "Dog" until after exposure to European settlers. They then domesticated the same animals as colonists.

The Choctaw Indians lived with a variety of animals including dogs and horses. They also hunted a variety of animals including deer, dove, turkey, rabbit, and squirrel in order to eat.

It was against cultural norms, religious beliefs (per se) to 'keep a pet.' Natives did have companion animals, but they were not pets in any traditional sense.
