Well, the tipical first thing new mouse owners feed their new mouse is cheese.
Some cheese is deadly to mice because of high levels of salt, fat etc.
My mouse loved popcorn. Not butter, sweet, toffee or salted (although you might get away with salted) just plain popcorn. They also love not salted peanuts, monkey nuts any nuts really. Even me im nuts : D! Mixed hamster food is also good unfortunately though some hamster food makes stuff all of the vitamins into little green sticks-mice genallry wont eat them. No vegetables or fruit unless a rare treat. Most mice dont like citrus fruits but some seem to enjoy them, the best fruits would be apple, pear. Try putting a whole coconut (with a hole small enough for your mice to have to sqease into) in the cage but not for too long take it out after an hour or earlier if it eats too much. Take out the coconut white edible bit and leave the shell in. You may find your mouse eats it but hes just gnawing.
Vegetables are an important source of nutrition for mice. They will generally eat whatever vegetables humans eat, however pet mice can be picky and each one will have its own preference. Vegetables that must be cooked first for the human diet must similarly be cooked for mice, such a potato and squash. Some people suggest that it is not advisable to feed mice onion.
When introduced to a new food, even vegetables, mice are generally very wary and will sometimes tentatively sniff or taste it once before leaving it alone. They may begin to eat more if it is offered regularly. This is thought to be an evolutionary habit that reduces the risk of poisoning.
My pet mice are partial to broccoli, fresh peas, baby corn and cooked cauliflower and potato. They will also devour salad items.
Fruit is also acceptable, except citrus which should be avoided.
