Look! There are millions of manufacturer's marks. For starters you do not even say what object the mark is applied to!! If it on a piece of antique porcelain, then you need to buy a book of porcelain marks or borrow one from your local library. Or, whatever.

That would depend on the type of A and how it is placed on the figure. If it is stamped into the porcelain it is most likely the makers mark and denotes either the brand or the factory. If it is painted on than it would depend on if the figure is hand painted or not. If the paint is factory stamped you would need to look up the manufacturer and determine what they use the stamps for. If it's simply hand painted onto the figure than it could be an artists mark or signature.
