What challenges did Washington face when he was given command over the contiential army?

The men were not expierienced. They had left and they were not trained either. They laft when they wanted to and many left. Hunger, sickness, and harsh weather helped them draw the conclusion to leave. I can't blame them. At one point George had only 2000 men in the army. They were not willing to train either.
