The basic organization structure was by Atomic Mass, which while it may follow a trend of increasing with each progressing element on the modern table, which is organized by atomic number or number of protons, there are a few exceptions, such as Argon having a greater atomic mass than Potassium, even though Argon has one less proton.

Which property did Mendeleev primarily use to classify the element?

to classify the elements mendeleev arranged the elements in increasing order of their atomic mass

What property did mendeleev arrange the elements?

Atomic Mass.

What property did mendeleev position the elements on the periodic table?

Mendeleev created his Periodic Table at the time when presence of sub-atomic particles like electrons, protons and neutrons were not discovered. So, the term atomic number was not known till now. So , he positioned the elements in increasing order of atomic mass because Atomic Mass of many elements discovered till then were known.

What elements are similar to iron in a chemical property on the Periodic Table

What physical property did Mendeleev use to places the element in rows on the periodic table?

atomic mass

What property was Mendeleev's table was base on?

Known elements were arranged by increasing mass.

By what property did Mendeleev suggest that the periodic table be arranged?

Madeleev originally arranged the elements in the first periodic table by their average atomic masses. Later it was changed to atomic number by Moseley, or the number of protons each of that element's atom has.

Who is credited with the creation of the first periodic table?

Dmitri Mendeleev and Julius Lothar Meyer independently published there versions of the Periodic Table between 1869 and 1870. Mendeleev's version would become the foundation of the table used today.

By what property did Moseley suggest that the periodic tabe be arranged?

After atomic numbers Henry Moseley supported the arrangement of periodic table of Mendeleev after atomic numbers and properties by a strong physical conception: study of the lines of X-ray spectra of chemical elements. It is a true relation between atomic numbers of elements and the wavelenghts of the characteristic X-ray lines.

Why are elements put in to 8 groups?

Dmitri Mendeleev (in his periodic table, who arranged according to increasing atomic mass). Niels Bohr in the modern periodic table, where the elements are arranged in increasing atomic number.

What property of elements was used to organized the periodic table?

atomic number
