As the heart pumps, systolic pressure on the arteries pushes the blood through the arteries into the veins. This continuous pressure circulates the blood back into the heart. Just like a water pump on a car's engine pumping water through the engine, radiator and back to the water pump to start the process again.

its not the aorta which pumps the blood but the heart.....because of pressure gradient existing between aorta and left ventricle blood is forced into aorta....
