A policeman needs to be a fairly balanced person and able to take problems in stride. Those who aren't able to do that will find problems in police work. This is a hard job and a lot of bad things are seen by the police in their daily life and work. They need to be a person who can think fast on their feet, make good decisions in a tough situation, and don't get mad when people are rude, crude, or mean. They also need to know the law and to be able to remember it and use it while at work. The job requires concentration, balance, and is physically demanding. So they have to be in good physical shape as well as smart.
