Trash

This is a utility question that we merge bad alternate wordings into to delete them or, if they are likely to be asked again, distribute to the appropriate catch-all question. To merge questions here supervisors can click "Trash" and then "Trash Completely" in the pop-up menu.

If bad questions are so unusual that they will not be asked again they can go here to be permanently deleted. The same goes for questions containing personal information such as e-mail addresses, social security numbers, home addresses, or non-celebrities' full names. If there is a good chance the problem question will be asked again on the site it should be merged into the appropriate catch-all question to prevent it from being created again as a separate question. For more about catch-all questions see the related questions below.

The easiest way to recover acceptable questions that are inappropriately trashed is to use the "Batch Restore" feature. Check off the questions you wish to recover and then click the orange "Restore" button. The alternates will return to the questions with which they were previously associated. Then check the yellow confirmation message at the top of the screen. Click "Split" next to those questions which do not belong as alternates of the associated primary questions.
