Good question, I guess the answer could be different for what you are trying to accomplish:
Horde :
- pve : I would go with a undead, the racial buff is very helpful when you are trying to heal and not be feared / charmed / sleeped in a raid.
- pvp : Again, undead is going to win with a semi-secondary pvp trinket.
Alliance :
- pve : Gnomes are good for their racial intellect bonus, however nightelf's can be useful for aggro management because of their instant vanish racial ability.
- pvp : Humans! Racial pvp trinket + stealth detection, allows for 1 extra trinket.
Which race suits you best for a Druid depends on what you want to do, as well as which race you like best. Since each race has distinctively different from to shift into (even if they have the same stats) you might also want to see which of those you prefer.
Night Elves (Alliance)
Night Elves have the ability to meld into shadows, escaping combat. They are also somewhat harder to hit. They function very well as Cat and Bear druids (Feral). When killed, Night Elves move faster back to their corpse as well, although this ability isn't quite as useful as it seems.
Tauren (Horde)
Tauren have a slight bonus to health and herbalism. They can also Warstomp, stunning enemies in front of them. Since this can be used in an animal form, they also make good Cat and Bear druids (Feral). In PvP especially, a combination of stuns can make a large difference.
Trolls (Horde)
Trolls are affected less by movement-restricting effects, but since druids can shift form to escape some of these, its use is limited. They can also go Berserk, increasing their Haste. This makes them passable Cat druids, but good Balance and Restoration druids. They also have the mixed blessing of neon-colored mohawks in Cat and Bear form, so it might be an acquired taste to play one for some.
Worgen (Alliance)
Worgen can sprint to gain increased movement speed, and gain a bonus on Crit. This makes them good Cat and Balance druids. They are shapeshifters that start with a Human form and gain a Worgen (Wolf-man) form during their early quests. They also can run fast on all fours, meaning that you never need to buy a mount unless you want to.
Tauren or Draenei lore wise, in terms of race stats wise go for your favourite because later on your Race become aesthetic and the gear you wear is more important. Hope this helps
Class changes are not possible in World of Warcraft at this time. If you want to change your race, you can only choose from races which have your current class available. For instance, if you are a Night Elf Druid, you can only change into a Worgen, Tauren or Troll - these are races that have the Druid class available.
Swifty's Druids name is "ragusalsa"
Tauren. If you do pick a Tauren, you should be a Shaman.
You have to either be a druid or have a druid in your party. The druid either has to have the quest for their epic flying form or has already done the quest to summon the boss who has a chance to drop this mount. You go into Sethekk Halls on heroic mode have the druid summon the boss so you can kill it for the chance to drop the mount.
The grove for druids, Moonglade, is in the northern most part of Kalimdor, near Felwood and Winterspring.

Insect swarm is a druid spell that is learned through talents. It is in the Balance tree. Once you learn rank one, then the druid trainers will teach you the rest of the ranks when you reach the appropriate levels.
