Jesus was Jewish, from Galilee, and therefore of Middle Eastern descent. If you are interested in his lineage, there is an account in The Bible that goes back to King David. While most of his ancestors were Jewish, there were a few gentiles (non-Jews) as well. As far as I know, every single one was from that same part of the world.
Jesus Christ is believed to have been a Galilean Jew, probably of Semitic or Middle Eastern appearance.
Jesus is often pictured having Roman features in many popular artworks, but this is due to religious icons being a popular subject of European art for a time period. There are many theories of the ethnic origins of Christ, but the most widely accepted is that he was of Jewish and Middle Eastern ancestry.
Jesus was born in North Africa (Egypt) & he was Jewish. So, depending on how you define ethnicity, he was/is Egyptian, Jewish or Negro.
How could he be Jewish and be portrayed as a christian? How can he be an Egyptian and be a Negro? Maybe he was the supreme being, the maker, the owner, the cream of the planet earth, the god of civilization because he had self knowledge of who he really was which is the original man, knowing his God like!
Wow...Way off, way way off!
Jesus Christ was a citizen of Rome, born in Bethlehem of Judea.
His descent through John & Mary was of the Jewish nation.
He was raised in a Jewish culture. he is of a Jewish ethnicity and they were considered Caucasoid...Being that of a lighter complexioned skin like those of N.Africa, SW Asia, India and Europe.
Yeshua was born no where near Egypt nor Africa!
His lineage is traced in the Bible through the Hebrew tribe of "Judah" [see Luke 3:34 & Matt.1:2-3]. So, He is a "Jew."
"...'for Salvation comes through the Jews.'" (John 4:22 NLT New Living Translation)
He was a Jew, based off what most people say. But based off the desriptions in the bible he is said to be African American.
Jesus was from the line of David, and believed to be of the Jewish race, so he was of Middle eastern descent.
Jesus was a Jew and completions for Jews usually ran from light to olive or tawny and the men wore beards.
There's really only one "race": the human race. The ethnicity of Jesus was as a Jew -- because he came as the King (Messiah) of the Jews.
Jesus Christ was from Nazareth, and Nazareth is part of Israel. This was his physical home, but his real home was in Heaven
Semitic.
Jesus is important to everyone, the entire human race.
Jesus miracles were in one way related to his mission of discipleship to the human race.
No the Bible has no reference on what race Jesus actually was. Well, he was born in Israel, so he was born Jewish.
Jesus got out of the tomb by God's power to fulfill the prophecy and give the human race eternal life.
Jesus probably had a skin tone similar to modern-day Palestinians. Most people would consider that "white", but definitely more "Mediterranean" than "Nordic".He'd also probably say something along the lines of "and exactly what difference does that make, anyway"?
Both the Jews and the Romans were involved directly in His death. In a broader sense every race of people was involved since Jesus died for everyone and it was necessary for Him to die for us since we have all sinned.
Jesus gave his life for all mankind, regardless of their race or nationality. (John 3:16)
So called Black, or African American
Yes. The calendar most people use (the Gregorian calendar) is dated from His birth. There is no other person in the history of the planet that had the effect on the human race that Jesus has had. Jesus has had more impact on more people than any other person who ever lived.
The race is Caucasian, and, given the geographic origins of Jesus, probably not. While there are several peoples in the Middle East who could be considered white, they are the result of European colonialism and population of the region, which occurred well after Biblical times.
Jesus' mother Mary was Jewish. While it is not impossible that she might be black the Israelites were not a black race and there is no reason to think Mary was black.
