What religion did people in Jesus' times believe in?

[Edit]

There were different sects of Jews; the New Testament mentions Pharisees, Saducees; I'm sure there were more. There were Samaritans, and the bible also mentions Gentiles; those would be people whose faith may have caused them to worship idols, or more than one god. In the East, Hinduism was established, and from that grew Buddhism. Jesus, as you probably know, was Jewish.
