What role did Ruth play in the history of the Church?

[Edit]
If the Ruth referred to above is the one with a book in the Bible, then she shared some genes with Jesus because she married Boaz and through him she gave birth to Obed who in turn fathered Jesse. Jesse was the father of David. It was through this lineage that Jesus Christ the founder of Christianity was born. This woman was a Moabites who abandoned her family and god(s) and decided to follow her widowed mother-in-law, being a widow herself, with a surprise declaration of faith that "Your people shall be my people and your God shall be my God." This is what Christianity desires to see in a penitent.
