Ferdinand Magellan started off his voyage in Seville, Spain. He headed southwest down toward South America. Staying along the East coastline of South America, then sailing through a waterway at the southern tip of South America, known as the Strait of Magellan. He then started heading North toward Hawaii then going downward to the West and landing in the Philipenes. There is when he dies, but one of his ships the Trinindad it all the way back to Spain with aboard 18 men, who were the first Europeans to circumnavigate the entire world, even though it was Magellan's, and Vespucci's theory of a round Earth. On December 29, 2009 at 3:19 am Vine delgado [0] said:before 1521, F. Magellan had already been gone to the spice island. It was 1511, together with the first viceroy of India, Francisco de ALmeida, he went to malacca and in 1512, he had defended and saved his cousin Francisco Serrano and latter had stayed in mindanao and turtle islands to repair their wrecked ship. In Malacca, Magellan also purchased a Malay slave and he named him Enrique. When they went back to Potugal he brought with him the Malay slave. Said to be the first Malay race (or probably the first Filipino to circumnavigate the world). In 1519 to 1521, by the helped of the King Charles I of Spain, Magellan rediscovered the Philippines (the correct spelling the country whom Magellan rediscovered)It was not Hawaii where Magellan first made his stopped-over but is was in the Islas de Landrones (now Guam). It was Magellan who gave the name because the natives stole one of the boats in the flagship Trinidad. I would like to make also a correction, It was not Trinidad who successfully returned back to Spain but it was Victoria headed by El Cano (once a leader in a mutiny while navigating the pacific to the Philippines.
