Volcanoes are not a seasonal or even yearly event. Volcanoes are not bound by the rotation of the earth, but are powered by the internal heat of the earth. The sun changes the seasons as the earth wobbles back along its yearly orbit, while a volcano does not need seasons and gets its power from the processes below the earth.
TheUntied States Geological Survey has great articles explaining in great detail the processes that form almost every type of volcano known on this planet fo further reading.
