Liking a certain color implies nothing about a 12 year old, other than he likes the color. So much burden is placed on kids to conform to some stereotypes and avoid others. If the child likes pink, he should feel open and comfortable enough to state that he does and why he does. Incidentally, a lot of grown men like the color pink just fine.
