You bring yourself. What I mean is - they( the drill instructors) take everything you own and put it in a paper bag. You get the bag back after you graduate. When I went through they told us that you could bring items like shoes, toiletries, letter writing gear,so on and soforth but when we got there they took all that stuff up,made us put it in a paper bag and write our name ,ssn, platoon#,and address on it and put it in storage until we graduated. No matter what anyone has told you the Marine Corps will issue you what they want you to have.
Whatever you want, but when you arrive, everything you brought with you will be sent back home. The Navy will provide you with what you need to complete boot camp.
From a Navy Drill Instructor, you may bring whatever but yes it will be sent back home. EVERYTHING you need will be provided from cloths; stuff to wash your body even stamps, letters and pens to write home with.
The single most important thing to bring is your I.D.! I highly recommend you check out the Recruit Training Commands website at bootcamp.navy.mil/. Look under the recruit section preparing yourself. If you are missing any required paperwork you could be placed on hold and be stuck in boot camp longer than needed.
Toiletries (deoderant, razors, liquid soap, etc). They will issue you everything else, for a cost of course. All issued uniforms and items will be deducted from your pay.
They will give you a list of everything that you should bring. You dont get to check luggage on the Airplane when you leave, so pack only what will fit in your carry on.
Dont bring anything that you dont need, you will get what you need there, and family can later send "care packages", you dont want to be like the kid that showed up with a psp and games for boot camp.
As little as possible - the first thing you'll go through after getting your hair buzzed (everyone's favorite ritual) is getting your uniforms, basic necessities, etc. issued to you. Anything you have with you when you report will be the first thing you box up for storage after you get your uniforms issued to you.
In other words, the less you have with you, the better off you'll be.
you have to do boot camp...
If you enlist in Oklahoma you will attend Boot Camp in San Diego, California.
Marine boot camp is 13 weeks. The longest of all military training.
You get discharged from the military.
yes there are boot camps in seatle. Boot camp is a 12-week cycle of training, and it is a fine location in seatle where you can get this opportunity.
Certainly
the Marines call it boot camp. its 12 weeks long
No, that is a false rumor.
There is no boot camp for Marines in Texas. Only three places in the entire world make Marines: USMCRD Parris Island, SC (Makes enlisted Marines), USMCRD San Diego, CA (Makes enlisted Marines), and USMCB Quantico, VA, which is the olnly place in the world which makes Marine Officers.
It is a pittance, but there are no pogie bait machines to squander it on.
There are two Marine Corps boot camps. Parris Island in South Carolina and San Diego.
Boot Camp is currently 13 weeks.
