What should you do if a boy for whom you have conflicting feelings asks you to a school dance and you're pretty sure your folks will not approve? In: Dating |
Answer
You have to ask yourself what type of guy he is and is there any credence in what your parents say about him. If he's an OK guy, then ask him over to your house to meet your parents. Make sure he respects you enough to have good hygiene, (doesn't have to be dressed to kill, but at least neat) no nose earrings, and clean and tidy hair. If you don't feel he has the manners to pull this off, then perhaps your parents have a good point. If this is the case just hope someone else asks you to the school dance and if not, then go with a girlfriend. Lots of girls do this when their date doesn't work out, and that's fine.
Answer
Be upfront with your parents. Perhaps they would be more comfortable if you would arrange to meet him there and have someone else drive you home. If you end up liking him, then you'll need to have him spend time at the parents'. There may just be some issues of age difference and so on that concerns your parents and you need to honor that for now.|
