You didn't say if it was a boy or girl. The best thing to do is ask the mother. Each child is an individual so one just never knows what a child's interest may be. Gift certificates to movies are great (include the concession stand as well); a computer game, pretend make-up for girls, jewelry. Don't go for clothing, most children don't like it. LOL
