You should be taking your dogs temperature twice a day from about day 58 on. When your dog's temperature dips drastically, the puppies will be born within 24 hours. A drastic dip is when the dogs temp dips from its normal 101F to about 98F.
Restlessness, nervousness, panting, wanting to dig holes. Be sure to have your Veterinarian on stand by. I hope you have a nice clean whelping box all ready for her and her pups. Her temperature will be down too, normal is 101 to 102, will usually drop down to 99 about 12 hours before she is due to whelp. Once she starts to whelp out her pups, don't let her strain and strain for over 2 hours without seeing a pup being produced. Take her into your Vet immediately. That is why you need to have him on stand by. They will normally pop out a pup about every 2-3 hours. I do highly recommend that you take her into your Vet even if you think she is completely through with whelping out her pups as you never know if there is still one left or not. She should be checked out afterwards by your Vet to make sure she and the pups are doing fine.
Well, she will start nesting and her stomach will be real big. If your dog is pregnant, get a large box for them and put blankets in it. The dog needs to fell like she and her puppys will be in a safe place. Real close to the time when she is about to have her puppies, she will stay in her box ALOT, and may only leave it for food, water, and to go to the bathroom. She may also get nasty with your other dogs if you have any, and growl and snap at them if they get to close to her. Glad to help!!
She will act very uncomfortable, and toss and turn, she will want you near, she will find a nice dark place to lay.
it starts panting a lot, and wants to lay down all the time
There are four major symptom of a dog in labor. They are drop in temperature, vomiting, nesting instinct and strange behavior such as barking.
probably not. only if that dog has puppies.
it best not to have puppies with a dog from a dog shelter
Okay well my dog had puppies (Maltese) but i think the signs are basically the same for all dogs: 1. Nesting - making the birthing site more comfortable 2. Restlessness 3. Contractions 4. Licking of rear 5. All the Above means that your puppies are definitely on their way... Though if your dog shows signs of trouble giving birth or the puppies are stillborn consult a vet immediately and source help from an experienced friend.
Well when a dog mates with another dog ( one clings to back of other one ) they are likely to be parents after a while :) or if your female dog has not had the baby injection to stop them having babies ), they cud possibly hav babies at any random point of its life. Signs of pregnant dog - crying, squealing, butt licking, black trails of like wet stuff around the house and other things that look unusual :) .
My dog is having the same problem, luckily we have another dog who tends to take care of the first dog's puppies, but still, why won't she pick up her own puppies?? The bigger dog takes care of the smaller dog's puppies.... the smaller one has never picked up her puppies...
they are puppies, dog gone it!
pups, or puppies
There is no set rule about what your dog should look like 35 days into pregnancy. It depends on the individual dog, how many puppies she is carrying, and her breed. Typically she will look a bit heavier than normal, and she may be showing signs of beginning to make milk for the puppies.
The neighbor's dog had sex with it.
it all depends. with my dog, we could not even see signs pf pregnancy let alone feel the puppies until close to birth date. give it another week or so:)
Spaying is the removal of the ovaries from a female dog. No dog that is spayed can have puppies. No female dog can have puppies with another female dog. If you are asking about a male dog, the correct term is neutered, not spayed.
you cant have puppies!!!!!!!!!!!
