Fuse # 24 is a ( 20 amp fuse ) for the cigarette lighter in a 2005 Ford Escape
When your cigarette lighter fuse is good and there is voltage measured between the fuse's load side to ground (To check this, use a dc voltmeter or a 12v automotive lamp and an automotive lamp socket. Connect one wire to the fuse and the other wire to the chassis of the vehicle the lamp should glow if voltage is present on the fuse terminal.), check the wire between the fuse and cigarette lighter. This wire should be without cut and when the wire is good then check the connector on the cigarette lighter socket for loose connection or corrosion. One more thing is that, make sure that your cigarette lighter fits the cigarette lighter socket because not all cigarette lighters will work on some cigarette lighter sockets.
above your the climate control, there will be a cap. look under the cap and you will see a button, then remove the cap. you will then see your fuse box and use your owner manual to see which fuse is for your cigarette lighter.
The right one
I have owned Chevy Volvo and Honda and all use a fuse to allow power to the lighter. Are you sure the wire has not been disconected from the back of the lighter?
Check the fuse. If you use a phone charger or any other aux device in the cigarette lighter most likely blew it.
the one inside the console i do believe. its the one i use and it works fine
I am looking at the 1995 Jeep Wrangler manual (I own a 95 Jeep Wrangler Rio Grande), and it is telling me that you use yellow fuse with 20amp for cigarette lighter and radio problems. Goodluck! About to go fix my Jeep radio/cigarette lighter problem right now.
AnswerThe cigarette lighter does not have a relay. It does however have a fuse. It may use the same fuse as the radio. If all fuses are good, suspect the lighter itself is bad. Try your lighter in a know good lighter receptacle. If it works there, then suspect the lighter receptacle in your car is bad.My Haynes repair manual for model years 1990 through 1993 states that the cigarette lighter relay is found in the left end of the dashboard below the PGM-FI relay.
They are not the same. Look in your owner's manual under roadside emergencies and look at the fuse box diagram, it will tell you what you need
you can use the lighter output, but not the lighter itsself.
