I think you should go for a cartridge filter (Pentair 320 sq ft - we can supply for $600 incl frt). Cartridge filters are much better than they used to be, and are far, far more coinvenient than sand. Suitable sand filter would be approx 100 sq ft (and same cost as 320 sq ft cartridge).
Usually they are fitted wit a 1 1/2 or 2 HP pump However if you are getting a new pump get the 2HP it costs a little more but it also pumps more.
Need to know what horse power you are thinking of. B T W the pump is not the filter. The filter is the large tank.
About 300 gallon.
To bypass a non functioning pool filter, or to keep your pool filter in pristine condition, first you need to back wash the pool. Once the pool has been back washed, you will need a leaf skimmer, a telescoping pole, a tile brush, a pumice stone, an algae brush, and a pool vacuum.
There is no filter at the bottom of a pool. Perhaps you are looking at the hydrostatic valve which is there in case your pool is emptied and Will make sure that the pool wont float in ground water.
You add diatomaceous earth (de) powder to a pool based on the size of the filter. Most pool filters have a plate on the side telling you how much de powder you need to add. If your filter does not have such a plate, the general formula is that you add 1 lb. of de powder for every 10 sq. ft. of filter area. That is, you need to measure the length, width, of your filter, taking the pleats into account, and use the formula "sq. ft. = length x width" to determine the square footage of your filter.
I have a 10 x 30 pool but i don't seem to need a pump and filter!
Yes. That is how the dirt is removed.
No.
I do think that you need to change the Filter. It not suppose to be brown. You can buy them at any pool store in your area or retail store that sells pools.
a 462000-gallon boiler, unlikely to be found on the market :)
Not hurt the pool but it can inhibit chlorine from sanitizing properly in high amounts. If its to high just drain some water out and refill with fresh.
Pour in a gallon jug of algecide and increase the amount of chlorine you use and run your pool's filter at least 6 to 8 hrs a night. Will clear up in a day. Of course this info depends on size of pool, but the average 16,000 gallon pool will clear up.
